Frequently asked questions
What is broken tea, and how is it different from leaf (ghalam) tea?
Broken tea is made from crushed leaves, so its colour and flavour release faster in water, giving a strong, dark brew. Leaf (ghalam) tea is made from larger, more intact leaves — it colours more slowly and has a gentler, more delicate flavour.
How is pyramid tea different from regular loose tea?
Pyramid tea is the same tea leaf, packed into a pyramid-shaped sachet for a quick, single-cup brew — the extra room inside lets the leaf unfurl more freely. Sehreh's pyramid range includes plain tea as well as cardamom, cinnamon, rose and saffron.
Which Iranian tea suits everyday brewing best?
For everyday brewing, broken tea or premium black tea is the usual choice since it steeps quickly and gives a darker, stronger cup. When you have more time for a slower brew, leaf (ghalam) tea is the gentler choice.
Where does Sehreh's authentic Iranian tea come from?
Sehreh's private gardens are in Langarud, Gilan; the leaves are harvested and produced in the factory right beside those same gardens.
